Go Up! The Door is Open.

By Debora Galloway

March 2, 2021

For the past year God has been teaching me something crucial that I believe is for all of us.  I’ve been calling it “Going Up”. Early in 2020, I started having visions of going up stairs to a doorway in Heaven. I kept pondering Rev 3:8…

See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it…”

In the past, at times during prayer or worship, I was having a recurring vision of sitting on a stool in heaven next to Jesus.  I knew it had something to do with Ephesians 2:6, we have been…“raised up together, and made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Over the past year when I would have this recurring vision, it was a bit different, the stool was often empty with dust on it. I knew God was saying He wanted me to “Go Up” to that place more often. My chair in heaven was collecting dust! The problem was I didn’t really know how to go up or what to do there. I was having my quiet time every day reading the word, worshipping, praying, receiving revelation, so what was the meaning of this empty, dusty chair? It was definitely an invitation, but to what?

Is your chair in heaven collecting dust?

Then in January of this year, I attended a meeting at our local house of prayer, that changed everything for me about “going up”.  A visiting guest speaker led us into an encounter in heaven, where she asked us to close our eyes and imagine ourselves in the throne room of heaven as she read Revelation 4 & 5. It starts out like this..

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice… saying ‘Come up here, and I will show you things that must take place after this.’“  Rev 4:1

I think imagining Jesus specifically in The Throne Room of Heaven was a key to my breakthrough.  In the past, I was seeing Jesus a lot in visions and in some encounters, but I was not specifically aware that He and I were both together IN HEAVEN. When I did become aware it seemed to change everything for me!  It was so real and personal! Our spirit can actually be with Christ in the heavenlies (Eph 2:6) , while our bodies are on the earth.

Encounter Jesus in Heaven

That night at the prayer house, I started having a vision of Jesus in the throne room with eyes of fire and then eyes of refreshing living water. The leader told us to allow Jesus to take us into another room in heaven to show us whatever He wanted to reveal.  Jesus led me into three other rooms that night: one where He confirmed some things about my identity, another where He was confirming a new area of my life that I was just starting in, and lastly one that gave insight into my future. I’m still unpacking everything I saw in those rooms!

The next morning, while praying in my quiet time at home, I imagined myself in the throne room again, looking at Jesus with his eyes of fire.  He said He wanted to show me another room, and in my mind’s eye, He extended His hand for me to follow.  Since then, Jesus has taken me to three additional rooms in Heaven, each with extremely personal meaning about what God is doing in my life.  For me, these experiences have promoted real and tangible peace, joy, refreshing, healing, confirmation, greater faith and more intimacy with both Jesus and Father God.  That’s a lot of really awesome fruit!

Live from Heaven Continuously

One morning shortly after I experienced all this, I was having my daily quiet time and the Lord told me to pull out a devotional that I had not cracked in months and go to the next chapter that I hadn’t read yet.  (I like to be led by His Spirit, so it varies what I end up focusing on each day) This particular morning the devotional was about being present with God throughout the day.  The author was encouraging the readers to write a detailed plan of how we can be present with God multiple times a day.  Remembering the dust on my stool in heaven, I knew exactly what God was getting at.  He didn’t just want me to “go up” during my quiet time, he wanted me to “go up” several times a day and learn to live from that place of being seated with Christ in heavenly places.  He wants us to learn to live from Heaven in intimate relationship with Jesus and Father God to guide our emotions and thoughts and to see down from heaven (God’s view) to have His perspective throughout the day and respond accordingly. So, this is the new journey that I’ve been on, living from heaven as much as possible!

For those of you who don’t have a lot of visions or encounters, and this whole “going to heaven thing” seems a little out there for you, let me give you some food for thought. In my last post,  I mentioned a flowing river. It’s continuously flows in and out, unlike a lake or pond, rivers keep flowing.  God wants us to be in constant connection with Him all the time, for the flow of His Spirit to be moving at all times in and through us. For me the primary reason to “Go Up” multiple times a day is to keep that flow of His Spirit continuous, strengthening my intimacy and relationship with Him, keeping His perspective throughout the day, and praying from His perspective not mine.

I’ve been reading a book about Intercession that belonged to my mother who is now in heaven.  She left a bookmark with the below scripture inside the book:

So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”  2 Corin 4:18

The bookmark had some other things on it and was labeled Day Six. When I realized I wanted to include this scripture in this post, I remembered that is my sixth post! I don’t think it’s a coincidence. The other contents on this card say, “This world is not my home”, and “How should the fact that this life on earth is just a temporary assignment change the way I am living right now?”   I googled all this and found out it’s part of Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life Curriculum.  But why did my mom have Day Six of Purpose Driven Life in her intercession book?

If our entire life on earth is a short blip compared to eternity in heaven, and if God tells us in His word that He wants us to focus on what is unseen and eternal while on the earth, add to that Jesus keeps inviting me to heaven, what does all this mean to us in the here and now?  I believe God wants ALL of us to learn more about the realities of heaven, encounter Jesus there in personal ways, so we can bring that into our daily lives here on earth. Jesus himself said to pray the following…

your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matt 6:10

Fulfilling this would be a litter easier and more effective if we actually knew what it’s like in heaven!  We know from scripture a few things about heaven…Father God, Jesus and the angels are there; there is no sickness, oppression, injustice, demons, nor darkness; there is light; there is Father God’s mansion which has many rooms where Jesus is preparing a place for us, and much more! So, going up and encountering Jesus IN HEAVEN is one way to “fix our eyes” on what is eternal, to keep our emotions, thoughts and prayers coming from heaven’s perspective instead of reacting to our circumstances. Going up multiple times a day is one way to keep the river of His Spirit flowing through us continuously to keep us in heaven’s perspective continuously.  After all, we are told to in 1 Thess 5:16 to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing”.

In regard to going up for answers and breakthrough for problems or warfare, in Feb 2020 while receiving some ministry, the minister suggested to me that I stop trying to fight the enemy like He’s right in front of me, but instead “Go Up” to heaven where there is no sickness and no oppression. From there we can ask Jesus or Father God what to do and simply follow their lead. In John 5:19, Jesus said “The Son of Man can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do.” Instead of immediately engaging the enemy when he starts snooping around or throwing punches, we should first “Go Up” and see/ask what Jesus is doing and/or what He would like for us to do. We need look down on our circumstances from God’s perspective and then do only what He tells us to do.  This was the first time I heard the words “Go Up”.  I believe God had been trying to show me this with the visions of the stairs to a door and the stool in the heavenlies next to Jesus, but I didn’t have language for it until that moment. To be honest in the beginning it was little hit or miss for me until I had that January encounter in The Throne Room of Heaven that changed everything for me about “going up”!

The following examples both came to me days after writing my last post and feel like clear confirmation that God is focused on this topic right now. I received an email blast from a Christian Leader who explained that when diving, to get an octopus to let go of you, fighting it is useless as it will use its suction cups to hold on tighter and resist. However, if you simply “go up” a few feet it will dart back down to the lower waters it prefers. Great example! He even cited Rev 4:1 which I was visualizing when I had my Throne Room Encounter!  Later THAT VERY SAME DAY a friend told me of a TV program that she and her husband watched the night before depicting eagles getting rid of attacking ravens.  Eagles can fly higher altitudes than ravens, so they simply fly higher to get away from them.  Another great example!  Stop trying to fight things at face value, instead “Go Up” all the way to heaven where Jesus and Father God are and enlist the wisdom and authority of God! Get up above the problem, look down from Jesus’ perspective and get His instructions. This can be extremely helpful to keep us in peace and rest in the midst of warfare and troubles since heaven is full of peace and joy!

In closing, I want to emphasize that the primary reason we “go up” is intimacy with God, deepening our relationship with Him, receiving from Him what we need, and helping us to see from His perspective which for me has resulted in peace, joy, healing, revelation, confirmation, etc.  I think the possibilities are likely endless!  I’m guessing this is a journey I’m going to be on with God for some time, maybe the rest of my life!

In the beginning, if going up is new for you, like my experience, you might have more fruit when someone is leading you in an encounter with Jesus.  If you want to try it on your own, here are a few helpful pointers:

Tips for your Trips to Heaven

  1. Put on some soft worship music in your home. Settle into a quiet spot.  Turn off all distractions (phone, TV, social media, etc.) Don’t be in a rush.  Do this when you have some time and don’t have to look at your watch.
  2. Close your eyes and imagine Jesus standing before you, maybe in the throne room next to God’s throne.  Look at His beautiful face.  Worship Him and just keep looking at Him in your mind’s eye.
  3. Once you see Him, ask Jesus what He would like to show you and continue to look at Him until you see or hear something else.  Be patient with the process and just keep worshipping, looking, listening until you see, hear or something else is impressed upon you.
  4. Once you see or hear something additional, just keep looking, listening and/or worshipping until you see or hear more. If you’re not sure of the meaning of what you are receiving, simply ask God clarifying questions.
  5. If you see or hear something that you know isn’t God, renounce it and command it to leave in Jesus Name. Don’t let it get you off track. Return your focus to looking at Jesus.
  6. When you’re all done, make sure to write down all that happened right away.  We can so easily forget and loose what God showed us.
  7. You can always go back to Jesus another time and see if He wants to show you more!

I look forward to your testimonies of going up and spending time with Jesus!  Feel free to contact me if you want to share, ask questions or you can post in the comments section of this blog post. Enjoy your intimate times with Jesus!  Go up! The door in heaven is open.

Encounter Jesus for Healing and Comfort

By Debora Galloway

Feb 14,2021

On Feb 10th, the Lord spoke to me “I’m slowing things down and releasing my peace for healing, comfort and encounters.”  I began to imagine a cozy blanket of peace wrapping around God’s people. I saw us sipping from a calm river or brook.” I found myself praying “Lord, fill us with your peace and life for healing”.

The Leaf of Healing

In going back to my journal notes on the words God gave me for this year, on 1-1-21 when the Lord said it would be “a year of breakthrough and life”. I also wrote down “turning over a new leaf. The leaf of healing” This made me think about the River of Life in Rev 22:2, “the leaves of the tree (of life) were for the healing of the nations.” That includes us! Dictionary.com says the expression “turning over a new leaf” alludes to turning the page of a book to a new page. God is doing something new and it includes healing!

In 2020, God gave me 3 scriptures to write songs to so that I would marinate in them, declare them and pray them over and over.  One of those was from the beginning of Isaiah 26.  “You will keep Him (Her) in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  In Yahweh, the Lord, is everlasting strength”. God wants to heal us and renew our strength through His peace.

After I had the dream in my last post, I began to ask the Lord.. “God, what do I and my family need in order to obtain that strong container in our suitcases that will enable us to make it successfully into the next move of God?”.  The Holy Spirit answered back.. “Health”.  And I heard that scripture from Joel 2:25 “ I will restore the years the locust has eaten”.

Healing for Spirit, Soul & Body

God wants us contending for healing and miracles for ourselves and for our families. God wants to restore the strength of His people. (Psalm 103:1-5, Isaiah 35, Isaiah 40:31)  Way too often, we have a tendency to settle for less than God’s best for our health.  I believe health includes spiritual, physical and emotional healing.  When we forgo the emotional healing that we need, it can manifest in our physical bodies. God wants to heal our whole self: spirit, soul and body.

In contending for this wholeness and healing,  Jesus is inviting us into impactful and powerful encounters with Him. His total sacrifice on the cross has already made provision for our complete healing, but many of us don’t know how to access all that Jesus has for us.  Hebrews 4:16 “Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” And James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” And lastly, Heb 3:18-4:3, “And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So, we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”  We need to believe that Jesus wants us to approach Him and have experiences with Him that will heal our hearts and catapult us forward into His love and purposes.

So.. believe! Jesus in inviting us in this season into some new experiences, some personal encounters with Him.  I’ve had dreams and visions my whole life, but nothing compares to the recent encounters I’ve had with Jesus going up into the throne room and looking into the face of Jesus.  It’s a place of surrendering all and allowing Jesus to redefine our lives and our very identity.  He will confirm in that place who He created us to be and what He wants us focused on this season.

Because the Lord brought up healing in the context of slowing down and peace, it made me think of the Hebrew word for perfect peace in Isaiah 26 “Shalom, Shalom”. The commentary in my bible says that the Hebrew word Shalom implies health, happiness, well-being and peace. Also, my bible regarding Shalom it says “Strongs #7965- completeness, wholeness, peace, health, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest and harmony. It’s more than the absence of agitation, but the root word Shalam means ‘to be complete, perfect and full’. This is the wholeness that the entire human race seeks. The wholeness made possible by Jesus suffering on the cross (Isaiah 53:5)”  I don’t know about you.. but more of all those things?  Yes, please!

Let the Spirit of the Living God fill you with Peace. Peace in your spirit to fill you. Peace in your soul and body to heal you.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace.  Let Him take you to new places in Him this year, so that you and your family will not miss the fullness of all He has for you, which includes divine healing and peace.

Recently, I keep finding myself referencing this scripture in Romans 14:17 “… for the kingdom of God…. Is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”.  In a previous post I mentioned how joy can bubble up supernaturally.  There are other times joy comes as a progression.  Today I saw this scripture like a river flowing.  When we experience the righteousness of Christ and receive His forgiveness in an area of our life, it causes peace to flow (like a river flows) because Jesus is The Prince of Peace.  If we don’t have enough peace, we are lacking some needed face time with Jesus!  Faith in God’s Word should bring us peace, and there is more.. encountering Jesus himself! Peace is part of who Jesus is. If the flow of Jesus’ Life is running through us, we will find our peace in Him. As we spend “face time” with Jesus receiving His peace, His peace will flow through us and can accomplish many different things.  One of which is healing and wholeness. As we receive healing physically, emotionally or spiritually we flow into Joy.  When emotional weights are removed and miracles happen, Joy results!  When someone gets healed physically, there is a lot of rejoicing and joy around!  God wants this for all of us, for righteousness, peace and joy to flow through our spirit, soul and body like The River of Life, because He is a God of restoration.  In the bible, whenever we see God restore, He never restores like before. He always restores GREATER than before!  That’s how good our God is!

Encounter Jesus Now!

As the Lord was speaking to me about the contents of this post, these three songs below came to mind.  Not sure why the Lord gave me these old songs.  Maybe He wants the older generation not to miss this! Or maybe because they were all inspired by scripture.  If you know one of them (if you don’t you can start with another song) why don’t you just sit back right now.. relax, close your eyes and sing these songs to Jesus.. focus on His beautiful face in your mind’s eye, maybe in the throne room of heaven or maybe by the brook of bliss in the beginning of Psalm 23.  It’s the Holy Spirit within us that makes possible intimate moments with Jesus, but we have to choose to give Him that space and draw near to Him. We just have to choose to believe!  Jesus wants to fill you, heal you and strengthen you, and you can always go back to Him for more..

I love Psalm 23:1-3a from The Passion Translation. “The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in His luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where He restores and revives my life.”

As A Deer by Martin Nystrom, based on Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longs after You
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You

I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You

You’re my friend and You’re my brother
Even though you are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You

Prayer and action for the new thing!

By Debora Galloway

Feb 5, 2021

God is about to do a new thing, and He wants to make sure none of us miss it! In preparation, God wants us to “be the Lighthouse” that lights the way not just for the lost but also for other believers who are having trouble pulling themselves into where they need to be in this season.  I believe He wants us to understand how great our loss will be, if we stay where we are and do not make it into the new things He is birthing.  This should motivate us into deep prayer and action.  Below is a dream I had this past week, that highlights a few important areas so that we don’t miss the new thing!

Dream: I’m preparing for a trip, and I enter a hallway with a man who is also headed to the same place. We are wearing Covid-19 masks.  My mask is black.  We are both pulling suitcases and are on our way to an indoor loading area at the edge of a building.  Just outside the indoor loading area are SUV’s waiting to pick us up and take us to where we are going. There is a small group of people gathered in various stages of loading up.  I have a feeling I’m last in line, as they take the other man’s suitcase and shake it upside down so they can inspect the contents.  What comes out is a hard container about the same size as the suitcase. His belongings stay intact inside the hard container, so they put it back in the suitcase, give it back to him and he goes outside to get his seat in the SUV. In the dream, I’m thinking to myself “ I’m afraid if they shake and inspect my bag, my belongings will go everywhere because I don’t have a hard container.” My Father was standing to my left while I was watching and having this thought. Then all the sudden my Father and everyone was gone, the SUV’s pulled away and I’m left alone standing by myself in the loading area.   I called a friend on my cell phone and said “ They left without me!  I can’t believe they just took off without me!”  I’m very upset about it. It was like I got there just a hair too late and wasn’t fully prepared with a hard container.  I didn’t know I needed a hard container. I was devasted.

Pray like your life depends on it!

In the dream, I think I represent people in the church who are lacking what’s needed to make it successfully into the next move of God. The black mask represents lack.  Through the dream, God has allowed me to experience what it feels like to be that devasted person who misses it, so that I will pray more seriously and more ardently that we will all become prepared and not lacking. God has been calling me to a tears and travailing type of prayer. (Isaiah 21, John 11:32-44) Some of us, or maybe all of us to some degree, need to feel His pain that He feels toward those in the church who know better but have been complacent, or tainted by fear or unbelief, the backslidden, those hanging around the peripheral edges of the church, or those who are trying but struggling. He wants us to feel the pain of those who will be left behind, those who will miss the next move of God and outpouring of His Spirit. He also wants us to  feel His pain of how much that breaks His heart that some of His own kids will miss it. When we have tears and travail in prayer, although it can be intense and uncomfortable for a time, God uses us it to help birth something new in the spirit so that it can be released in the natural.  I believe He wants us to pray like our life depends on it, because some people’s lives do depend on it, and certainly our spiritual lives depend on it. He wants us to contend in prayer until we see the promises start to manifest. (I Kings 18:41-46) We need to heed the words of John The Baptist and “prepare the way for the Lord” through our prayer and however else He is showing us, as time and seasons will be shifting again soon. *A note about tears and travail, I’m just learning about this myself, but I think the goal is to allow God to take us there in desperate prayer filled with His heart, and then give the burden back to Him so we continue our day mostly with peace and joy.  After all it does say in Romans 14:17 that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. “

There is always a mandate and responsibility on the church toward the lost who don’t know Christ, however; I believe in this season God is also putting his finger on His church.  He is calling us to a greater level of trust, faith, endurance, repentance and humility so we can hear without the prejudice of our own human filters about the new things He wants to do in us and through us.  If we can receive and facilitate what He wants to do, it will lead to a new and greater outpouring of His Spirit that will equip us to bring in the greatest harvest yet!  There will be boldness required once we do hear His heart.  We must be willing to make changes and move forward into the new thing He is birthing. It starts with us.  Are we ready? It’s time to get really serious about prayer, searching our hearts, and asking God to change us into people who love what He loves, and hate what He hates, so that we can be effective in this next season. We need desperation in prayer for people to enter into the new thing. This will turn into tears and travail for some, but for all it should compel us into the action of helping others, so that our local church and in our individual spheres of influence, we all make it into the next move of God, and no one misses it!

Like the dream I had, there are many believers who are lacking and don’t have their bags packed right. Some of the things we need are:

A Fortified Spirit

A fortified spirit for the potentially hard or long road ahead. (hard container in the dream)  Believers without endurance, perseverance and strength will fall apart when the road gets tough or long.  Miriam-Webster says this about fortified: 1. Made stronger or more secure. 2. Improved or enhanced through the addition of one or more ingredients.  Because I believe the black mask in the dream represents lack, I tend to think the latter is very important for us. Ask the Lord what you and those around you are lacking to be strong and prepared enough for the road ahead.

Preparation, Perseverance & Clear Vision

God recently brought to my attention the parable of the wise and foolish virgins in Mathew 25, which I brought up in my first post in January. The foolish virgins also lacking something.  They had what they needed in the moment, but not enough for the long haul, not enough for the unexpected delays. They were lacking the oil to be sustained over a longer than expected time period, so they could keep their light burning as long as required, so their lamps would enable them to “see” well.

A Fresh Outpouring of the Holy Spirit with Joy and Restoration

I believe, at least in part, in this season the lack of oil represents that we need more of the oil of the Holy Spirit. We need His fresh outpouring!  Through the Holy Spirit God encounters us, fills us, heals us, and empowers us so we become utterly convinced of God’s love and goodness, as well as we receive His clear vision and direction for the road ahead with strength for the journey. We also need the oil of Joy which has been hard to maintain during this past difficult Covid season, which is why one of my previous posts addresses Joy and more will follow.  We must learn to find our Joy in Christ and let His Joy become our strength like the Word tells us.

Spiritual Father’s and Mother’s Focus on Next Generation

More spiritual fathers and mothers take their place with the next generation. In the dream, I had the realization of what I was lacking when my Father was standing by my side.  We need Fathers and Mothers of the Faith to rise up like never before and help the next generation into the next move of God.  Everyone was getting in the SUV’s moving to the new place together.  Spiritual fathers and mothers, please don’t keep or leave your spiritual sons and daughters in an old box that will become stagnant.  Please follow Jesus into the new places He is leading and help your spiritual family get there.  God is on the move! Follow Him and take the next generation with you!

Ready or not, God is on the move!

God is about to do a new thing!  In His graciousness and love, He is sending us a message to be prepared so we don’t miss it!  There are those who will miss it.  Don’t let it be you!  Don’t let it be your family or your church.  Let’s seek the Lord in humility and repentance like never before so that our vision is clear. Let’s ask Him for a great outpouring!  Strengthen those around you.. we all need it! Seek the Lord for the new thing!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

I feel so strongly this is a key song for us in this season, so I just have to post it again. “Prepare the way, He’s coming through, ready or not our God’s on the move. We’re going to see Heaven on earth, Come Holy Spirit awaken your church!”   (“Prepare the Way” Bethel Music, Revival’s in the Air Album)

Follow Jesus, He’s moving..

By Debora Galloway

Feb 1, 2021

Ready or not, Jesus is on the move…

On January 19th I had the following vision: Jesus came down from heaven and followers of Christ fell into a single file line behind Him.  He started moving forward immediately, and we all followed Him still in a single file line. He was moving forward, but not in a straight line.  It was a curvy, forward motion, like a swirl going forward, not a straight shot. Also, the forward swirl movement was inconsistent..  The two things that were consistent was the forward direction of the movement and that we all stayed in a single file line.

It was very clear to me when I had this vision, that ready or not, Jesus is on the move and we must follow Him.  He’s not going to wait around on us in this season. Things may start to move forward quickly. If we don’t recognize where He is going and follow Him, we will simply get left behind and find ourselves somewhere God never intended us to be.

Follow Him!

If we are not moving forward or not planning to move forward soon, there’s a good likelihood that we are missing something important. Ask God to reveal to you where He is moving at this moment, so you can get in line behind Jesus.  Look for Him and follow Him.

Don’t expect moving forward to be a simple, straight forward trajectory.. the road might be a bit curvy and at times it might feel a bit like going around in circles, but as long as you are seeing/hearing Jesus and following Him, you’ll get to your destination with Jesus!  For some, even though you’re moving forward, it might feel a bit slower than you expected/wanted because it’s not a straight shot, but it is going forward.

There’s a song that I think is so prophetic for the time we are in right now. I encourage you to take a listen to “Prepare the Way” by Bethel Music, Revival’s in the Air Album, with Bethany Wohrle, and Dante Bowe.

“Prepare the way, He’s coming through. Ready or not our God’s on the move.  We’re gonna see, heaven on the earth.  Come Holy Spirit awaken your church!”..

2021 Year of Healing & Joy

By Debora Galloway

Jan 24, 2021

Healing brings Joy!

On January 1st, this year 2021,  I was sitting in my front room and all the sudden out of nowhere.. Joy bubbled up in my spirit. It caught me off guard. I’ve never quite experienced that before. I wasn’t thinking about anything joyful.. in fact, I was maybe a bit somber or neutral at most. I had been sitting facing our Christmas tree and noticing that the green lights went out leaving only the red, white & blue lights on our tree.. interesting. (You prophetic types can have a heyday with that one!) This got me thinking about the division in our nation and how I should probably have been praying much more than I was for America. Then out of nowhere, joy bubbled up in my spirit, and it really caught me off guard. I had a strong sense that God was trying to tell me this was going to be a good year despite what’s going on in the world and what people think about it.

Then on January 18th during my prayer time, I heard the Lord say.  “There is going to be lots of Joy this year, because people are going to be healed. There will be miracles this year. It’s ok to tell people they are coming.  You will not be disappointed.” Wow!  Thank you God!

“I want you to have Joy again”.

God began to tell me personally, “I want you to have Joy again”. Based on what he spoke to me about healing & miracles and this being a year of breakthrough and life, I have to believe new joy is for all of us!  Along with breakthrough, healing and restoration comes joy and rejoicing.  We see this in the scriptures over and over, and of course it makes perfect sense.  When awesome things happen, we are full of Joy!  Expect it this year!  Believe it and receive it!

I’ve decided to create occasional blog posts about different aspects of Joy, because we all want more of it and God wants us to have it!  After all, “the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”. Romans 14:17. If it’s what God’s kingdom is made of, we should have lots of it!

Today we are going to start with this one aspect of Joy:

Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. (Gal 5:22) God can drop it in us supernaturally from His Spirit into our spirit. It is not contingent on our circumstances or feelings.

I think this is what I experienced on New Year’s Day. A drop of Joy from heaven, from The Holy Spirit into my spirit.  As I was thinking about how Joy can bubble up supernaturally, I was reminded of this scripture that I really love “Now may the God of all hope, fill you with joy and peace in believing, that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”.  Romans 15:13

I’ve always loved this concept that The Holy Spirit can bring us joy supernaturally, but what I didn’t notice before is the connection to “believing”. “May He fill you with joy and peace in believing”.. While Joy can come supernaturally, there may be some aspects that only come or stick around longer when we choose to “Believe”.  For instance, that drop of Joy I received from God on New Year’s Day, was not the only unexpected thing God dropped on me early this year.  He also spoke to me one day thereafter “Put aside your list. It’s time to start your blog. Do it today!”  Wow, I wasn’t expecting that!  It took some faith and “believing” to scrap my whole list not just for a day, but a whole weekend basically, to jump on this instruction. I “believed” His words, took action, and I can say it’s causing my Joy to grow more!  I chose to believe everything He said.. I can do it and now is the time. I had to give up earthly wisdom and my own thinking that my to do list was more important than God’s instruction. I put that list aside, took action and now I’m having even more joy!  Of course, I’m also super busy doing tons of writing and learning how to create a blog and website in record time, but guess what.. I have more joy!!

If you haven’t had a drop of God’s supernatural joy lately.. be bold and ask for it!   Also, be expecting breakthroughs that bring joy and rejoicing. It might require some action on your part like God told me to start my blog, or God might just drop something supernatural on you like He did with me on Jan 1st in front of my Christmas Tree.  However it happens for you, it WILL happen if you choose to believe for it, and obey whatever God shows you to do because Joy is one of the things God’s kingdom is made of!

Another area that God wants us to find Joy in this year, is in our God given assignments.  Some of us are being called by God to venture into new things.. in fact, I would be so bold as to say that most, if not all of us, are being called by God into new things this year in one way or another. So, be listening and willing to follow Jesus where he wants to take you and find your joy in that place!

And..keep an eye out for those healings and miracles that are on the way..

Believe it!  It’s time to get your Joy on!

2021 Year of Breakthrough & Life!

Are you Ready?

By Debora Galloway

Jan 17, 2021

2021 is year of breakthrough and life!  Get ready to spring forward! God is coming in this season to break down the walls that have held us captive or held us back. He wants to take us forward into the next step of our God given destiny.

I had a vision that each one of us was seated inside a circular wall that completely surrounded us on every side and kept us captive in one place. I saw God approach and completely break down those walls removing the barriers that kept us from standing up and moving forward. Many people continued to stay seated in the same place as if the walls were still there, when actually they were completely free to move forward! But they didn’t!

My sense about this vision was that many of us have become too comfortable with walls and barriers have prevented us from moving forward because of long delays and other issues.  We have lost our focus, our passion or maybe even our hope regarding God given dreams and destinies. We have become so familiar with these walls that many of us won’t SEE or even notice when breakthrough happens, but will continue to be complacent in captivity, maybe with a victim mindset.

God wants us to awaken!  He wants us to watch and see that He is breaking down our walls and extending His hand to follow Him into His plan. We need to regain our strength, our faith, and sharpen our focus on Him in order to see clearly what God is doing and have the faith to get up and run forward with Him.

God is ready to perform His word toward you! The moment of breakthrough is at hand!  Are you ready?

God is asking us to prepare for the future, so when our moment of breakthrough happens, we are ready to move with Him immediately.  He brought to my mind the Parable of The 10 Virgins in Matthew 25. All 10 of them had lamps burning waiting for the bridegroom.  Five of them did not anticipate how long they would have to wait. They did not bring extra oil reserves to keep their lamps burning for a long time.  When the bridegroom was delayed and showed up later than expected, those five were out scrambling at last minute trying to get more oil and they missed their moment of visitation and the door was shut.  What a travesty!  These were not people who were off doing their own thing. They were keeping company with the faithful and wise.  They also had lamps burning, waiting for the bridegroom, likely with as much anticipation and excitement as the others.  However, one thing separated them from the five wise virgins.. they were not prepared.

If you desire to move forward, now is the time to make sure you are prepared. The 5 foolish versions missed their moment of visitation specifically due to their lack of extra oil reserves that would have keep their lamps burning for a longer time period. Which means after an unexpected delay their lamps probably started going out and they likely were having trouble seeing clearly. Likewise, there are things that we need to prepare to make sure we see clearly, and don’t miss our hour of visitation and breakthrough. The Lord has been highlighting to me two areas that are essential for us being able to see clearly in this season and move forward with God into His plan, and not our own:

Repentance & Humility. We must be looking through the eyes of repentance and humility, submitting all our plans, opinions, and everything in our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ with complete obedience, seeking Him with all our heart. If we have any little piece of our heart still desiring our own way, it’s possible we will see and pursue the wrong thing.  It’s also possible to see God’s way and other options at the same time, and become confused which way to go, because we are too focused on our own desires.  This leads to delay, frustration, possibly producing an Ishmael, or God forbid… like the 5 foolish virgins…closed doors. God wants us to lay down our lives in complete surrender and follow his guidance into His plan.   Repentance, dying to our flesh and setting aside our own will, plans, and timetable brings grace and an increased ability to hear and see more clearly what God is saying and doing. This process helps remove our fleshly filters that can be in place due to sin, compromise, disobedience or selfish ambition that can block or confuse our understanding of God’s will.  Our own filters can be so subtle and yet really get us off in the wrong direction. It’s like the rudder on a boat.  It can be just slightly off and you can end up in a completely different direction than Jesus is going.  Ask the Lord to show you how you need to repent! This is not just for new believers,  nor only for people with obvious sin in their lives.  This is for every one of us!  This should be part of our lifestyle as Christians, searching our hearts and asking God to show us if there is any wicked way in us. (Psalm 139:23-24) Spend time with God repenting. Be humble and submissive to God. We want to truly see Him, become one with Him, and let Him take us where He is going.

Boldness & Fearlessness. We need a new level of boldness and fearlessness to have courage to move out from behind those limiting walls to following Jesus where He wants to take us in this season and into the future. Studying up on the apostles and early New Testament church should give us some good direction on speaking God’s word and living a life of boldness. Also, we have to become completely convinced of God’s love and goodness toward us regardless of what difficult things we are experiencing. (I John 4:18 The one who fears is not perfected in love) In one way or another, God is inviting each one of us to partner with Him in occupying our land for Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  This means there will be battles. We can’t let our own insecurities and weaknesses, other people, spiritual warfare or unexpected world events (Covid 19, division in government, etc.) stop us from moving forward in boldness and fearlessness.  If we are truly following Jesus and not the dictates of own hearts (including fear) , we will reap His promises and rewards, which is first and foremost relational intimacy with Him and then the invitation to follow Him where HE is going.  The only fear we should have in our lives, is the Fear of the Lord. Be bold and fearless.. get up and follow Christ wherever He is leading you. Make certain you are seeing clearly and then move forward!

I could continue this list of other points here, but I believe the Lord is saying that EVERYTHING will flow from these two areas. We must line up our hearts and minds with God’s will removing anything that is hindering our ability to see and hear correctly what He is doing, so we can be ready to move forward with Him in the hour of His breakthrough and visitation. If we truly invite and embrace God’s process of repentance into our lives and allow Him to transform us into humble and submissive sons and daughters of God, we will not miss His breakthrough. If we allow Him to transform us into a bold and fearless people who are willing to abandon our own opinions, plans and fears in order to move forward into what He wants to take us into, then we will accelerate quickly into His plans.

God is ready to perform His Word.  The hour of breakthrough is at hand!  Are you ready?

Jeremiah 1:11-12 says, “The Word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’ “

My Bible says the word “ready”, in this scripture, from the original language it was written in means: Watching, waking, hastening, anticipating, to be sleepless, vigilant, alert, on the lookout, to care for watchfully. The Almond is considered the “waker” in Hebrew thought because it, of all trees, blossoms early watching diligently for the opportunity to bloom.

Being on alert and sometimes sleepless for long periods of time can be exhausting! Even the apostles had a hard time staying awake at the most crucial hour, when Jesus prayed fervently in the garden, his disciples were asleep!  Jesus appropriately rebuked them and admonished them to watch and pray. We must pray for strength, determination and focus, so we can be alert, and see correctly in this crucial time. A visiting African Pastor said a couple years ago, that if we want the church to thrive we need to get into a place of separation, desperation and intercession.  Lord have mercy! Drive us to our knees and take us to that place.

The choice is ours.  We can be early bloomers like the 5 wise virgins and catch God’s major breakthrough in this season that will catapult us quicker into God’s plans than we dared to dream, or we can find ourselves in more delay, confusion or going the wrong direction if we are not willing to humble ourselves and ask God, show me what I need to repent from?  Where are YOU taking me? Let’s awaken, watch & see what Jesus is doing and follow Him into our next assignments.

God is ready to perform His word.  The hour of breakthrough is at hand.  Are you ready?
